Jennifer Collins, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker – NY

Jennifer is a NY-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University in 1996 and her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2004. She has experience working statewide in a variety of settings, including community counseling centers, medical hospitals, and full-service mental health clinics. CBT Therapist Jennifer Collins specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, stress management, and grief and loss. She has found that her holistic, strengths-based approach is a good fit for adolescents, adults and couples who may be experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, grief/loss, and trauma.

Jennifer primarily practices from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, which is a thoughts-based therapy modality that helps clients identify and understand the relationship between negative thought patterns, behaviors, and beliefs. These thought patterns may look like misguided beliefs or perceptions or like harmful self-talk. By examining these thought patterns and finding healthy alternatives, clients can increase their confidence and understanding of who they are and what their story is. Jennifer has also always been drawn to the healing arts and the introspective work that can be found through creative writing, journaling, and the body-mind connection that is cultivated through the practice of yoga. She strives to help her clients feel comfortable talking about their life stories, and she prides herself on her ability to listen without judgment. CBT Therapist Jennifer Collins is passionate about helping people work through adversity and grow through the challenges and obstacles in their lives so that they can become the best versions of themselves.
