Her previous work at the Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center helped water and blossom her competency in working with trans, non-binary and queer identities, gender, sexuality, poly/non-monogamy, kink, BDSM, fetishes, sexual functioning, sexual anxiety, compulsive sexual behaviors, relationship conflict, infidelity, desire differences in relationships, parents with LGBTQ or gender/sexuality questioning children, conflicts of faith and/or spirituality with gender and sexuality, depression, anxiety, and HIV/AIDS. Gina utilizes a mixture of modalities, an eclectic approach, that primarily focuses on Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment, Somatic, Interpersonal, Internal Family Systems, and Humanistic therapy modalities. She also utilizes individualized Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, when necessary. She believes the overarching primary goal for therapy is to utilize the therapeutic relationship to help clients explore, create, and foster a solid sense of self and a life they want to be present in, not escape from. Living in a capitalistic society, we’re often told to dream big but maybe don’t have people in our lives who can/will willingly choose to walk with us at our pace, a healthy pace to be successful and fulfilled in reaching our goals and dreams. Gina’s hope is that she and her clients will be able to create therapeutic alliances built on a foundation of respect, healthy boundaries, unconditional positive regard, trust, and humor. And through building a secure attachment, she hopes to be able to foster a safe, kind, and welcoming space that values and encourages the growth of self-esteem, self-curiosity, self-expression, and sense of self at the speed that feels most natural and comfortable for you.
